Google To Do List: How to Create One in Google Docs

It’s easy to create a to-do list in Google Docs. Today I am here to guide you through the process and give you step-by-step instructions. This is a simple list template for the Google To Do list.

With everything that moves on the web, including online training, and especially with the growing popularity of Google Docs, it makes sense to move all your documents – including task lists – to the new service.

Although Google itself does not provide a template for the Google Docs to do list, it is very easy to create one. I will also present an alternative for use in Google Docs – Google Tasks (which I don’t like as much as the model below).

So, let’s start by looking at the template of the Google To-do list for Google Docs!

Google Docs To Do Task list: Fast and light

Here you will learn what you need to do to quickly create the specified template.

1. Log in to your Google Docs account (here) and create a new document by clicking on the + button in the lower right corner of the screen.

2. Name the document so that it is easy to remember – for example, a to-do list by clicking on the default document name (unnamed document) in the top left corner:

3. Now click on the Insert – Table button in the taskbar under the title. Move the mouse over the mouse pointer to determine how many rows and columns a table should have (current list to be executed) :

We recommend that you select 3 columns and give them the following names:

  • Are you ready? (where you cross things off your list)
  • Task (where you write the actual task)
  • Details (where you enter all data, such as a deadline or other).

You’ll end up with something like this:

And there she is! Your to-do list is ready! You can continue and edit it as you like, which is easy if you can access your Google Docs account and edit it on the go.

We don’t have the ability to add fashionable flags on Google Docs, but we don’t really need them either! Every time you do a job, just put X under the first column, like I did in the example above.

In my opinion, this is the easiest way to create a list in Google Docs that gives you the best design and approach. This is a template that you can easily create, modify and duplicate as needed.

But Google also offers a service called Google Tasks if you need an alternative. I’m not exactly a fan of it, and I’ll tell you why, but first we’ll see what it’s about.

Google Tasks – Alternative to the action list template via.

After logging on to Google Docs you will have access to Google Tasks. To do so, click on the task icon on the right side of the window:

After clicking the Getting Started button, the drop-down menu will take you to the default list (you can create more if you wish). From here you can add new tasks by simply clicking on the Add task icon:

It’s nice that you can edit each task to add more details, synchronize with Google Calendar and make sure you really do (or at least know) it on time:

Another interesting feature is that you can simply mark the completed task by clicking on the button next to it:

But if you do, the stain just disappears. And that’s what I really don’t like about this feature and that’s why I don’t use it, and I prefer my model instead.

I prefer to see my tasks – including the ones I have completed – because it is easier to follow my progress and because it gives me the right to brag in the evening. This makes things more organized, even though the school is a bit older and less fashionable with all those buttons.

But you have a choice, and you can use one of these methods to create your list on Google. Both are really easy to reach, adapt and better organize your day – or week.

One thing is clear: We are going to use Google Docs more and more because everything on the internet is in motion. With the growing popularity of Chromebooks, we are somehow obligated to use Google’s offerings to store our documents – including lists and all kinds of schedules – in the cloud.

If you are interested, we have compiled a list of the best cheap Chromebooks you can buy today.

That’s not bad, because it makes it easier to access the list on all devices. Now you have no excuse if you forgot to visit your parents or do things you really don’t want to do.
