But this time it’s a new model of Raspberry Pi? Not so much new in the specifications, but certainly new in the design!
What’s a raspberry pi 400?
Raspberry Pi 400 is a stand-alone computer integrated in the keyboard.
This model contains the most powerful processor for violet Pi (BCM2711 1.8 Ghz) and 4 GB RAM.
It’s like a raspberry pi 4 hidden in a keyboard case.
For our elders, it’s likely to evoke memories.

What’s new?
This is the real image of Pi 400.
Yes, so it is essentially a matter of taking the official Raspberry Pi keyboard and integrating it with the Raspberry Pi 4 to have a stand-alone computer.
Just plug in the screen and mouse and the system is ready to use.
This is an ideal solution for many people who now work at home, but also for children who study at home.

As you can see, everything is easy to use. Just plug in the cables and your computer is ready to go. It is not necessary to install radiators, fix them in the housing, etc.
Even everything you need is included: Mouse, power supply, HDMI cable and SD card with Raspberry Pi control system pre-installed.
The good news is that all Raspberry Pi 4 connectors are available on the rear panel, including access to the GPIO contacts..
So yes, this product seems very interesting.
I would have thought the new Raspberry Pi would be an easy way to use the SSD, but for this model it doesn’t seem possible yet (maybe for the next evolution, because there is definitely room for it on the keyboard).
Specifications
The characteristics of the Pi 400 raspberry are very similar to those of the Pi 4 raspberry.
If you have Raspberry Pi 4 and are not interested in the keyboard size, I don’t think you really need it (especially if you have the 8GB version)..

So this is the Raspberry Pi 4, with a missing USB 2.0 port, but a slightly higher processor speed (the processor of the Raspberry Pi 4 has 1.5 GHz).

The Pi 400 Raspberry is available in two versions:
- The only Raspberry Pi 400 computer, priced at $70 in the United States. You only have a computer with a keyboard, without accessories.
- Raspberry Pi 400 computer kit for $100. It contains everything that can be seen in the photo, i.e. the power supply, the mouse, the HDMI cable, the 16 GB microSD memory card and the Raspberry Pi guide for beginners.
As always, the innovation of the Raspberry Pi Foundation can only be found on the websites of authorized retailers.

Personally, I am very satisfied with this format, because I think it can help a lot of people (children, the elderly and people who work remotely) to get a cheap computer at home.
So this is the perfect year for this product and I hope it will be successful.
But for personal use I don’t see anything in it, because I already have Raspberry Pi 4 and I’m not (yet) going over to Raspberry Pi as the main computer for this model.
